Biography
Dr Palmer is a genetic epidemiologist/statistician with applied interests in the genetics of complex human disease, and strong theoretical interests in the development of novel statistical methodology.
He is the Principal Analyst for the International Consortium on Asthma Genetics, and until recently was Director of Statistical Genomics at the Channing Laboratory, Harvard Medical School in Boston.
Dr Palmer played a key role in establishing teaching programs in genetics and genetic statistics at Brigham and Womens Hospital and Harvard School of Public Health. He is currently the Foundation Chair in Genetic Epidemiology at the University of Western Australia in Perth, Australia.
Dr Palmert is Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Genetics.
